Stream: Indians – Somewhere Else (Album Premiere)

Couldn’t tell you the last time I posted music from Denmark, meaning it has been far too long, (I’m so sincere). I came across Indians tonight and holy holy this is filling a musical gap that I didn’t even know existed until I heard Somewhere Else. Indians’ government name is, Søren Løkke Juul and I am a very lucky girl because after falling in love with a single track, GOOGLE led me to his album premiere from earlier today. One might say it was fate.

Søren is a talented multi-instrumentalist. See a video below to watch him live and in action. I feel as though his sound reminds me a little bit of Perfume Genius and some parts Bon Iver (maybe a dash of James Blake) however, it is very fresh in it’s own right. Indians was picked up by the 4AD label to join the likes of Grimes, St. Vincent, Bon Iver, Purity Ring etc. etc, the point I’m getting at is clear…they know what’s good. It’s funny, I was just saying I have found myself gravitating away from folk music however, Indians’ approach to the genre I hold close to my heart is pulling me right back. Hopefully, some of you cats who may feel a similar musical void in your hearts will let Søren take you to your happy place. I am curious about the name choice, oh well.
